It’s work, for sure.
Dig site of Khirbet el-Maqatir, Palestinian West Bank—just over the hill. (2010)
Our team dug in this square near the Gate of Ai that pointed to the North—digging carefully as if “draining a bathtub.” We laughed when some stones pitched over our 10m boundary then had to be moved again when we needed to follow a wall that disected our boundary.
On both of our trips to Israel, we went with Associates for Biblical Research. We highly recommend experiencing Israel with them.

NEWS FLASH: The archaeology world is all excited! And as in all conversations about any important new discoveries, there will be as many opinions about the object uncovered as there are archaeologists in the discussion:
Follow the discussion on the discovery of a small lead tablet found at Mt. Ebal (Joshua 8:30-35).
From Dr. Scott Stripling, Director of Excavations for ABR, and Provost at the Bible Seminary, Katy, TX:
“Unless you have been in a coma the past two weeks, you are aware that ABR held a press conference at the Lanier Theological Library where I announced that we had deciphered the writing on the inside of a folded lead tablet (defixio) recovered from the Mount Ebal Dump Salvage (MEDS) project. . . . ENJOY!
